What to Expect on the Day
Ride for Rhinos is a Sunday adventure with meaning woven into every mile. We begin our journey at Triumph Motorcycles, gathering as a community of riders with a shared passion for exploration and conservation. After a quick briefing and a warm cup of coffee, we fire up the engines and head north toward Bela-Bela, following a scenic and easy-going route that welcomes riders of all skill levels. It’s the kind of ride that opens your lungs, clears your head, and reminds you why we chase the open road.
As we arrive at the Rhino Connect Sanctuary, the experience shifts from adventure to something far deeper. Here, riders step into the world of rhino conservation — meeting the animals face-to-face, feeding them, hearing their stories, and learning how the sanctuary protects these incredible giants from the ever-present threat of poaching. This is a rare opportunity to get close, connect emotionally, and understand the real impact your participation has on their survival.
We wrap up the day with a bush-style lunch prepared by Kevin from Meat Ranger, whose fire-cooked meals have become a highlight of our adventures. There’s time to relax, chat, connect with fellow riders, and take in the beauty of the sanctuary before heading home. It’s a powerful blend of adventure, community, and purpose — a ride that leaves you changed.
About Rhino Connect
Rhino Connect is a South African conservation organisation dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating rhinos affected by poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict. Based near Bela-Bela, the sanctuary provides a safe, controlled environment where rescued rhinos receive the care, food, medical attention, and protection they need to survive and eventually thrive. Their work extends beyond the sanctuary itself — Rhino Connect actively supports anti-poaching initiatives, community education, and long-term conservation strategies aimed at safeguarding one of Africa’s most iconic species.
Every rhino at the sanctuary has a story: some orphaned, some injured, others rescued from dire circumstances. Rhino Connect’s team works tirelessly to give each one a second chance. Their mission is grounded in hope, resilience, and the belief that through awareness and collective action, we can turn the tide for these endangered animals.
When you join Ride for Rhinos, you’re not just joining a motorcycle adventure — you’re directly contributing to this vital conservation work. A portion of every ticket goes straight to the sanctuary, helping fuel their efforts to protect the rhinos that depend on them. It’s adventure with real impact, and together, we’re riding for something that truly matters.
