HOW THE ADVENTURE STARTED

For years we’ve been wanting to expand our offerings to the Western Cape of South Africa. It has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and clients have been asking us for a long time “When are you going to start offering trips from Cape Town.” We can finally answer that question…September 22-26th, 2023.

In March of this year, Joe Fleming and Bruce Allen, CEO Triumph South Africa, set out to the Western Cape to reccee the route for our upcoming trip. They learned a lot along the way and affirmed that this adventure needs to happen in 2023.

Our Western Cape Adventure for 2023 will be slightly modified from their trip. They pushed quite a bit and we found there needs to be a bit more down time to enjoy the sights and make more time for sitting around fire every night!

If you’d like to read more on their adventure in 2023, you can head to the Official Triumph below to hear more about their Tiger 1200 Epic Adventure!

THE ACCOMMODATION

We make sure that you’re looked after each night of the adventure. Our accommodation options range each day so that you can experience diverse locations throughout the Western Cape. Dinner and breakfast is included (alcohol is not) at each night accommodation or when necessary we’ll head into town for meals.

Shared room ticket holders will share a room/shalet/cabin/cottage with one other person. Each location will offer an en-suite or will have a bathroom close by for you.

Backpackers and Camping ticket holders will get to experience a mix of accommodation options. When possible the backpackers area will house 5 or more people, and on other nights you’ll share a 3x3 meter tent with one other person. Tents and stretchers are provided but you will need to bring a sleeping bag.

THE RIDING

This adventure is all about the off-road wonders of the Western Cape. The majority of dirt roads that we will encounter along the way are gravel roads. A few areas where things can get a bit more challenging is at Swartberg Pass and also Die Hel (optional ride). There will not be any single track. Dependent on weather during our adventure the demand on the rider can change.

We will have a lead rider and sweep rider throughout the adventure so you will never get left behind. We encourage all riders to ride at their own pace. We will wait for you at your next turn.

ALL RIDERS ARE REQUIRED to bring with them a device to navigate with (Phone/GPS). We will wait for you at every turn, but things can go wrong so we require that you have downloaded the GPX track and have access to it at all times.

RIDER SKILL AGREEMENT. This ride is not for beginners. Everyone attending must have previous off-road experience and consider yourself a confident rider on gravel roads. Should you question your skill level, please contact us and we can put you in touch with someone in your area who may be able to assist you with training.
