THE STORY

Why is it called The Land God Made in Anger? It’s the name that Namibia’s local bushman have given the country due to it’s harsh environment and rugged landscape.

Namibia is vast. It’s big. It’s beautiful. The roads are amazing and you’ll feel like a speck of sand amongst the wide open terrain of Namibia.

We’ve put together one hell of a motorcycle adventure that will take you through some of the countries best locations and highlights with a nice mix of dirt and tar roads!

THE RIDING

The majority of the time in Namibia we will make use of the country’s national roads. These roads include both tar and gravel roads in between towns. The road surface and conditions change often between hard packed gravel, corrugation, loose gravel and sand. Of the over 2800kms of riding that we’ll do on this trip, roughly 1500kms of the journey will be on dirt roads. There will be a mix of short and longer ride days.

Rider confidence is a must for this journey. We highly encourage you to make the time for off-road training prior to the trip or spend some time off-road on your own bike.

THE BIKES

Our preferred choice of bikes in Namibia is the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. These bikes provide you with all the power you need with off-road capability that is unmatched. We’ve found them extremely reliable no matter the conditions we face in Namibia

*All riders are responsible for paying a rental deposit and also for any damages to the motorcycle that may happen along the trip.

THE BONAFIDE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE

We've always been of the mindset that Bonafide Moto Co. curates adventures, rather than tours. The reasoning is simple – we're adventurers at heart.

To us, adventures come with ups and downs along the way. Some days are easy, while others will challenge you. Either way, you’ll reach your journey's end with a feeling of real accomplishment.

Bonafide Moto Co. adventures are carefully designed to encapsulate the true spirit of adventure travel. They take you along paths unknown, push the limits of your skills, make you work for your reward – and most of all, bring like-minded people together.

Adventures are all about a team effort. Each person finds a role, assisting others when they need help and knowing that each of us is in this together.

We pride ourselves on having the ability to create this camaraderie, with many of our guests returning year-on-year to rekindle those lasting friendships at the end of every day around the fire.

If you’re looking for an easy outride – this one isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a life-changing motorcycle adventure that will challenge you, make you part of a team, and help you grow as an individual – this is your next adventure and we look forward to hosting you!

ITINERARY

ACTUAL STOPS AND LOCATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

  • FLIGHT INFO:

Rotation 1 - All riders flights must arrive into Windhoek airport before 1pm on April 10th. We also encourage riders to arrive a day or so early if you have time to do this. This allows you to get acclimated to Namibia and enjoy some down time before jumping on the bike.

After arrival into Windhoek you’ll have the opportunity to hang out by the pool, enjoy some drinks and get your gear ready for the next day. Tomorrow we ride!!!

  • Our first day of riding!

Breakfast will be served at camp and we ask everyone to get there as soon as possible. After breakfast it’s time to start getting your bike packed up and get your gear on because it’s time to ride!

We’ll head out from the capital of Namibia traveling just over 200kms on tar roads (about 2 hours) before we take our first gravel road towards Spitzkoppe.

The first stretch of dirt is a great opportunity for you to get comfortable with Namibian roads. This one is a big gravel road of 40kms with some epic views headed to Spitzkoppe.

We should get to Spitzkoppe with plenty of time for you to go out on a hike and check out the land before making your way back at sunset for dinner.

  • We’ll set out from the Spitzkoppe campsite at our leisure sometime after breakfast. It’s not a long day on the bikes so we won’t be in a rush.

Sunrise at Spitzkoppe is spectacular and a great opportunity to go explore around the area before we pack up.

Leaving Spitzkoppe we’ll make our way West to the coastal town of Henties Bay for some fish & chips.

After lunch we’ll continue south along the Skeleton coast and take a stop at a ship wreck.

Typically we arrive into Swakopmund at a decent time so there will be time for you to walk around town before we head to the beer garden.

  • This will be one of our longer days of dirt road riding, but this could most likely be your favorite stretch of road.

We’ll wake up nice early this day, grab some breakfast and hit the road.

Our first stop will be exploring around the sand dunes of Swakopmund before we start the journey inland.

We’ll head east through vast open areas and lunar landscapes. We’ll make a stop into Solitaire for some fuel and much needed pastries before ending at Sesriem Campsite.

  • It’s a very early start this morning as we all jump into a shuttle for an hours drive to Sossusvlei Dunes.

We’ll hike the dunes at sunrise and explore the Deadvlei for a few hours. We’ll cook breakfast at the dunes and then make our way back to the bikes. From there it’s a short day of riding to Greenfire Desert Lodge for some much needed R&R.

  • It’s a full day of R&R here at the lodge. We’ll have the whole property to ourselves. Make the most of sunrise and sunset game drives, relax by the pool and get our gear cleaned up for the next half of the trip.

  • Another manageable day on the bikes. We’ll set out at a leisurely pace in the morning and take a short days ride down to Kanaan heading through some more beautiful landscape.

We’ll arrive on the hillside campground at Kanaan where we’ll be welcomed by the resident Oryx.

  • A long day on the bikes, but we’ll be thankful for the majority of this day being on some great tar roads before we duck off onto the dirt roads leading us into one of the most incredible riverside canyons, the Richtersveld!

Here we’ll do a night of wild camping in a remote riverbed.

  • We say goodbye to Namibia on this day leaving, and head into South Africa.

It’s mostly tar roads this day but you’ll enjoy it as we wind our way along the Orange River on our way to South Africa.

  • We’ll leave the small town of Springbok en route to the coastal town of Lamberts Bay.

There’s some great dirt roads that wind along the cliffs on the coast that will lead us to another great restaurant for Fish & Chips.

  • We’ll set out early from Lamberts Bay on tar as we make our way to the Mother City of South Africa, Cape Town.

Flights can be booked from 4pm that day or even better to fly out the following day if you’d like to enjoy a night in Cape Town!

For those staying around that night we’ll organize another night stay & dinner somewhere in town.
